10 returning Raiders offensive players firmly on the roster bubble heading into 2025

Every year there is a fair amount of turnover on a team. You can expect even more when a new coaching staff comes on board. Very few players are what one might consider a lock. While many others will be fighting to keep their roster spots from being usurped by a newly acquired player.

On offense, I have pinpointed ten returning players whose roster spot is very much on shaky ground.

QB Carter Bradley

The former undrafted free agent enters his second season with the team. He spent most of last season on the practice squad, but with injuries to both Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell, he would end up one snap away from taking the field five times last season. But with Geno Smith taking over the starting job and the drafting of Cam Miller, Bradley's unlikely to make this year's roster.

RB Zamir White

For a brief few games at the end of the 2023 season, it looked like Zeus might be a capable starter. That fizzled out quickly last season and four games in, his time as a starter was done. The team made Ashton Jeanty their pick at sixth overall and Sincere McCormick and Raheem Mostert are currently the favorites to round out the running back corps.

RB Dylan Laube

There was some chatter about Laube during last year's camp, though I was there the whole time and can't for the life of me figure out what brought it on. His first carry as an NFL player, he fumbled it. And he didn't get a second. Though he did get six kick returns. He would have to show up big there to have a shot at making this roster.

RB Chris Collier

Collier actually got five carries last season in three appearances. He is the same boat and White and Laube.

WR Alex Bachman

With a depleted receiving corps, Bachman saw action in six games. He caught three passes for 31 yards. The Raiders don't have a deep receiving corps this year, but I would hope they can find five receivers with better production than that. If not, then they're in trouble.

WR Justin Shorter

This offseason, he's been working at wide receiver mainly because his best shot at the roster may be as an X receiver. He appeared in ten games last season for the Raiders as a tight end, but saw no time there, playing exclusively on special teams.

TE Michael Mayer

It may not be entirely fair to say he's on the bubble. At least not in the sense that he could be cut. But he has been mentioned as a trade targets throughout the offseason and if the Raiders can get something decent in return for him, I suspect they would take it and fill out their tight end roster with the other candidates.

G/T Thayer Munford

This former seventh round pick has something his coaches like. Enough to keep giving him every opportunity to find a place for him. After trying to earn larger role in his first two seasons, he was finally fiven a shot to be the starting right tackle last year. And lost it the moment rookie DJ Glaze stepped in for him due to injury. Now they're trying him at guard, signaling what could be his last shot. If he can't make the transition, they drafted a guard who played tackle in college who will gladly take those reps.

G/C Jordan Meredith

The former undrafted free agent started eight games last season and appeared to have beaten out Dylan Parham at right guard. These days he's been working with the second team at center. He is one of several linemen on this team who can play guard or center as the next man up behind Jackson Powers-Johnson. And there can be only one.

G Dylan Parham

The former third round pick has been a full time starter the past three years. But his performance has never cemented him as a starter. He has been running with the first team at left guard this offseason, but there are suitors for that spot. He and the two gentlemen above him along with rookie guard Caleb Rogers will be battling for what could be two roster spots.
