5 easiest games in Cowboys very difficult 2025 schedule

After all the guess work and everyone trying to piece it together, the NFL officially announced it's full, 2025 season schedule. The 17-game slate for the Dallas Cowboys has its challenges, but despite playing a schedule that includes the five games against the final four teams in last year's playoffs, including the two Super Bowl participants, not every game will be difficult to navigate.

Every slate has its ups and downs, and there are five games that can be labeled the easiest on the Cowboys' schedule. Three of these games come on the road, and one is the team's home opener to an NFC East rival.

Yet with how the NFL operates and sees a nearly 50% change in its postseason teams every year, it's way too early to know which teams will be good in 2025. Injuries and other unknown factors will play a big role in how the upcoming season plays out, but from the initial outlook, these are the five games the Cowboys should win.

Week 2 vs New York Giants

The Cowboys will open up their home slate of games against the Giants, a team they've dominated over the course of quarterback Dak Prescott's career. Prescott has won 13 straight games against the Giants and hasn't lost to them since his rookie year.

It's a make-or-break season for New York's general manager and head coach, and it doesn't get any easier by opening on the road versus the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. The Giants have had one winning season in the last eight years and are coming off a 3-14 campaign.

It's also a team working on a veteran QB rotation of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston while they ease rookie Jaxson Dart's transition. The Cowboys should have no trouble beating a team recycling QBs.

Week 5 at New York Jets

Another game the Cowboys should win easily is against another New York team; the Jets. Despite having a good defense and an offense with a few solid playmakers, the Jets lack a quality option at QB to beat the Cowboys. The new signal caller for the Jets in 2025 is Justin Fields, who hasn't yet shown the ability to play at a high level.

The Jets lost some good players in free agency, including wide receiver Davante Adams, and will be ushering in a new era under first time head coach Aaron Glenn. While the Cowboys have their own rookie coach, Brian Schottenheimer's team has the more talented roster and shouldn't have any trouble winning this game, giving Dallas' front office some satisfaction after being mocked for not hiring Glenn and going with their own candidate.

Week 6 at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are on the way up, but they aren't ready to compete just yet. Bryce Young took major strides in the second half of his second year, but he's not on Prescott's level and he doesn't have as good a set of weapons as the Cowboys.

It's a roster that isn't ready to compete with the Cowboys. The two teams played last year, and Dallas' defense pounced on Young, sacking him six times and forcing four turnovers. Expect more of the same as the Panthers haven't upgraded their offensive line enough to keep Micah Parsons and company away from him.

The Panthers have had seven straight losing seasons and they're unlikely to break that streak in 2025. The Cowboys should roll in this game.

Week 9 vs Arizona Cardinals

Another team that feels like they're on the way up are the Cardinals, who went a surprising 8-9 in 2024. If they can take another step this year, they could be knocking on the door as a playoff team.

The Cowboys are the better team and should beat the Cardinals at home. If Arizona is indeed in the playoff hunt, as should the Cowboys, this game could be a pivotal matchup in Week 9.

QB Kyler Murray has never lost in AT&T Stadium, and the Cowboys have had trouble beating the Cardinals in the past, which could serve as motivation for Jerry Jones' team.

There aren't many easy games on the schedule, but this should be one the Cowboys win handily.

Week 11 at Las Vegas Raiders

Schottenheimer gets to face his old boss in Pete Carroll and the Raiders, who have had just one winning year in the last eight seasons. The Raiders are rebuilding behind veteran QB Sam Darnold, second year stud TE Brock Bowers and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty. Darnold had a great 2024 behind QB whisperer Kevin O'Connell, but he's unlikely to find similar success in Vegas.

The Cowboys have more talent, the better QB and will be coming off their bye week, so they should be healthy heading into the game. They'll be on the road, but the Cowboys fans will no doubt travel well for this game to keep the home field advantage to a minimum.

It's hard to see Prescott and the Cowboys losing this contest, which is the last of their easy slate. A brutal final stretch of the season awaits after this game, so this must be a victory.
