5 players to avoid in the first-round of the 2025 NFL draft

When it comes to the first round of the NFL draft, there are always some wildcards. Players who convince a particular team they are worth one of those coveted 32 first picks and even if no other team feels that way, it doesn't matter. The 2025 NFL draft is no different and on Thursday night, don't be shocked when you are shocked at some of these picks.

Here are four guys rumored to go in the first round that we would avoid that early.

RB Tre'Veyon Henderson - Ohio State

There is a lot of talk about Henderson sneaking into the first round but no matter how badly I need a running back, I am waiting on another back in an ultra-deep class before I spend a pick on the second-best back from Ohio State.

QB Shedeur Sanders - Colorado

If teams are being honest, they know this is a bad quarterback class. Even Cam Ward, who is going No. 1 overall, isn't worthy of that pick but Sanders has too many holes in his game to go in the first round, even though we know he will.

EDGE Shemar Stewart - Texas A&M

We aren't saying Stewart is the Mike Mamula of this draft but he might be the Mike Mamula of this draft.

OL Kelvin Banks Jr. - Texas

Banks has the potential to be a very good starting guard. But we are hesitatnt to put him in the first round because his floor as a tackle is much lower than other tackles who will come off the board after him.
