76ers' Tyrese Maxey passes Allen Iverson as the franchise leader in 3-Point field goals

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey passed Allen Iverson as the franchise leader in three-point field goals with 886.

It did not take long for Maxey to break the record. At 25 years old and after six seasons in the NBA, Maxey headed into the head game four threes away from breaking Iverson's record. He needed a quarter, making four threes in the first quarter.

Maxey's scoring has been automatic this season. He is currently fifth in the league in scoring, averaging 29.1 points, 6.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds and shooting 37.5 from behind the arc. He also ranks in the top 10 in three-point field goals made and three-point field goal attempts.

The 76ers have continued to slightly tread above water despite Maxey's scoring numbers. The 76ers are 32-26 and have gone .500 in their last ten games. While rookie V.J. Edgecombe has been a bright spot, the 76ers continue to have Joel Embiid and Paul George in and out of the lineup.

Emiid has played in 32 games, averaging 26.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. George has played in 27 games and is currently serving a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy. The team has gone 6-5 in George's absence. He has averaged 16 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 38.2% from 3-point range.
