Aaron Rodgers Signing With Steelers Delay Has New Conspiracy Theory

Aaron Rodgers' pending career decision has become much of an afterthought for the majority of the league. Once a titan of the quarterback position, he is now largely unwanted for a multitude of reasons that extend beyond his apparent decline on the field.
One suitor truly remains in the Rodgers sweepstakes, that is assuming he wants to continue playing at all. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the lone team still without a solid plan of action at quarterback for next season.
Mason Rudolph and Will Howard are the top two options though neither are really a convincing play. There is certainly an argument for an aged Rodgers having more value here than either of those two.
Regardless, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio is urging Rodgers to wait on making a decision until after May 14 when the league is set to announce the schedule for the 2025 season.
"This year, Rodgers has yet to sign with the Steelers. If he does it before the schedule is released on May 14, the league will know it’s getting a marquee team and a marquee quarterback for a slew of standalone games. If he waits, maybe the schedule won’t have as many prime-time appearances from (checks depth chart) Mason Rudolph," he wrote.
"At this point, it makes sense for Rodgers to wait until the schedule is locked and loaded."
Now why would Rodgers shy away from the spotlight? He has declared himself a "must-see" player in an interview with Adam Schein last year.
Whether that is true anymore or not is certainly up for debate. But it should not and likely will not factor into Rodgers' decision. Clearly, this final chapter move will be dictated on his terms.
Considering that in his decision negates that point and goes against what he has said in the past. Furthermore, the Steelers already know their opponents and mostly all of their locations. When they play those games does not change much.
Florio's rationale here is a little odd give the player of focus. More than any schedule information though, Steelers fans just want the answer of will he or will he not be on their team next season.
