After leaving Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp was approached by several of Europe's biggest clubs. Yet the German coach decided to take a step back and move away from the touchline, as revealed by his agent, Marc Kosicke.

In an interview with the specialist website Transfermarkt, Kosicke confirmed that his client received concrete offers as soon as the 2024/2025 season ended. Among the interested clubs were Manchester United and Chelsea.

"Even Chelsea and Manchester United reached out to us for information. But Jürgen was very clear from the start: he will not manage any other club in England," Kosicke stated.

Klopp also turned down national teams

The interest didn’t come solely from clubs. Several national teams also expressed their desire to secure Klopp’s services, including the United States and England.

"He could have taken charge of the United States before Mauricio Pochettino was appointed. He also had the chance to manage England before Thomas Tuchel’s appointment was made official in January 2025," his agent explained.

Although Klopp has already hinted that a return to coaching isn’t on the agenda for now, the door remains slightly open.

"Maybe one day he’ll feel the urge to return to the dressing room atmosphere. But for now, he’s fully enjoying his new role," Kosicke added.

At 58, Klopp now holds the position of global football director at Red Bull GmbH, working closely with RB Leipzig since October 2024. A return to coaching, however, remains a possibility in the medium to long term.
