Alabama basketball eliminates Lady Vols in SEC Tournament
No. 11 seed Alabama (23-9) defeated No. 6 seed Tennessee (16-13), 76-64, Thursday in the second round of the 2026 SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
Thursday's loss was the seventh consecutive defeat for the Lady Vols. The Crimson Tide led, 39-29, at halftime.
Janiah Barker totaled 20 points, five rebounds and one steal. She converted 6-of-14 field goal attempts, 2-of-5 three-point attempts and 6-of-8 free throw attempts. Barker was one of two Tennessee players to score 10-plus points in the contest against Alabama.
ZeeSpearman recorded 13 points, six rebounds, two blocks and one assist for Tennessee, which committed 18 turnovers, leading to 19 points for the Crimson Tide, who committed 13 turnovers.
Mia Pauldo finished with eight points, four assists, three rebounds and one block for Tennessee, who outrebounded Alabama, 30-29, in the game.
The Crimson Tide's Jessica Timmons led all scorers with 23 points. She also totaled three rebounds and one assist.
