Andy Reid on KC's latest UDFA standout: 'He’s showed some nice things'
The Kansas City Chiefs have had to get creative to deal with injuries on their offensive line this season, and rookie blocker Esa Pole seems to have caught the attention of head coach Andy Reid.
During his comments to the media on Wednesday, Reid told reporters his thoughts about Pole's standout performance in Kansas City's loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.
“[It was] Good to see him (Esa Pole) again," Reid said. "If he’s going to be in there – he’s showed some nice things, it’salways a challenge the second time when they have tape on you. So, if you’re getting in there you betterkeep practicing and detailing your work.”
Pole took the field to man the left tackle position in Week 14 after veteran lineman Wanya Morris exited the 'Sunday Night Football' showdown due to injury.
While it is unclear if Pole will be the Chiefs' starting left tackle on Sunday, his impressive effort against Houston may force Kansas City's coaching staff to consider finding a more permanent role for him in the near future.
