The Chicago Sky returned from the All-Star break Tuesday night and suffered a blowout 91–68 loss to the league-best Minnesota Lynx, marking their fourth and final matchup against the Lynx this season.
With the loss, Chicago drops to 7–16 and faces an uphill climb to re-enter playoff contention during the second half of the season.
One of the few consistent bright spots for the Sky has been star forward Angel Reese, the team’s lone All-Star selection. She’s averaging 13.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in her debut season.
Against Minnesota, Reese recorded her 10th consecutive double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. However, she also struggled at times, committing a season-high nine turnovers. The game took a controversial turn when Reese was hit with her seventh technical foul of the season after expressing frustration over a no-call.

The call sparked immediate backlash from WNBA fans across social media, many of whom questioned the decision and accused officials of singling her out. Reese is now just one technical foul away from a one-game suspension.
"SHE DIDNT DO ANYTHING Tyler better talk to the league," a fan said.
Someone else added, "Leagues out to get her… Such a soft call."
Another person wrote, "Refs are awful in the WNBA."
"WNBA and the refs will get what they want," one more fan commented.
Last season, a player would receive a one-game suspension upon their seventh technical foul. However, with the WNBA extending the regular season from 40 to 44 games this year, the league raised that threshold to eight technicals.
The Sky will look to bounce back Thursday night when they return home to face the Seattle Storm, who come in with a 14–10 record.
