Announcers set for Bears vs. Vikings Week 1 opener

The Chicago Bears will host the Minnesota Vikings to open the 2025 NFL season, which will mark the start of the Ben Johnson era -- in the prime-time spotlight, no less.

The Bears’ Week 1 game will air on ABC and ESPN at 7:15 p.m. CT on Monday Night Football. The television commentators for the game are Joe Buck (play-by-play), Troy Aikman (analyst), Lisa Salters (sideline) and Laura Rutledge (sideline). The game will also air on ESPN 2 as part of "Manningcast," where Peyton and Eli Manning will be on the call with special guests.

Chicago is coming off a disappointing 5-12 season that kickstarted an offseason overhaul led by the hiring of head coach Ben Johnson, the retooling of the interior offensive line and even more weapons for second-year quarterback Caleb Williams.

Meanwhile, the Vikings are coming off an impressive 14-3 season that ended with a wild-card loss to the Los Angeles Rams. With quarterback Sam Darnold now with the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota turns to 22-year-old J.J. McCarthy, who steps into his first season as an NFL starting quarterback.
