KNOXVILLE — The Oskaloosa softball squad picked up their second win in as many days as they were able to score a shutout win at Knoxville on Thursday.
For Osky, it’s their second shutout win of the season as Shannon VanRheenen was able to strand two Panther runners in scoring position with the tying run at the plate in the seventh to close out the win.
Oskaloosa (12-19) stays on the road with a trip to Fort Madison (9-13) set for Monday at 7 p.m.

STATE CENTER — The Eagles finished off their regular season on the road on Thursday ahead of their postseason opener on Saturday. Pella Christian would drop both games of a doubleheader 11-1 and 6-3 to West Marshall.
Game one saw the Trojans jumped out to a big lead early thanks to a six-run first inning on their way to a run rule win in five innings.
Logan Gallaher was 2-for-2 for PC while Phineas Spronk had one RBI. Eliot Menninga was hit with the loss after allowing seven unearned runs on four hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Game two was more competitive with West Marshall leading 2-1 after the first inning before extending their lead to 6-1 after three. The Eagles tried to fight back a little bit, cutting the lead down to 6-3 before running out of outs.
The Eagles had plenty of traffic on the bases with 10 hits and three walks as a team. Brecken Ritzert, Grant Kelderman and Gallaher all had two hits and an RBI. Kelderman pitched one inning and would suffer the loss after allowing two unearned runs on one hit and one walk with one K.
Pella Christian (8-20) opens Class 2A postseason play at Grand View Christian (14-11) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
