Arizona Cardinals add QB Kedon Slovis, 2 other new to players to practice squad

The Cardinals made some more practice squad moves. After final cuts, they announced 13 player re-signings, but they have since added four players and released one.

One spot was a move that was official on Wednesday but unannounced until Thursday, bringing back tackle Roy Mbaeteka, using their international exemption to carry a 17th player. He was signed during training camp after they lost undrafted rookie tackle Valentin Senn for the season with a neck injury.

They also signed three players not previously with the team and cut one.

They also announced the release of offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth.

Anusiem is 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, 24 years old and he played one game with the Cleveland Browns last year. He was inactive in seven other contests after signing with the Browns' active roster from the Washington Commanders' practice squad. He entered the league in 2024 with Washington as an undrafted rookie free agent from Colorado State and began the season on the Commanders' practice squad before joining the Browns. He played his final two collegiate seasons at Colorado State after spending his first three years at California. He played 23 games in two years at Colorado State and had 93 tackles and one interception.

Jacobs is a 6-foot-6, 315-pound tackle and 26 years old. He spent the preseason with the New England Patriots after playing 15 games with 13 starts at tackle in 2024 with them. Jacobs entered the league in 2023 with Denver as an undrafted rookie free agent from South Florida. Jacobs played three seasons at South Florida after beginning his college career at Grambling State.

Slovis becomes the Cardinals' No. 3 quarterback after Clayton Tune was cut and signed with the Green Bay Packers' practice squad. He is returning to Arizona where he played high school ball for Desert Mountain. Collegiately, he played for USC (2019-2021), Pitt (2022) and BYU (2023).
