Bears, Rams players lost their minds on Caleb Williams' game-tying TD

The Chicago Bears might've suffered a brutal end to their 2025 season in a divisional round loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but they also found their franchise quarterback in Caleb Williams, who continues to be the biggest talking point coming out of that game.

In his second season, Williams garnered a reputation for being clutch with the game on the line. He led an NFL-record seven fourth-quarter comebacks, and he was positioned to earn his eighth before a comeback bid fell short in overtime.

But the reason the Bears were even positioned to beat the Rams in overtime was because of yet another improbable, sensational throw that only Williams could make. If you thought last week's incredible fourth-and-8 completion to Rome Odunze was thrilling, Williams' game-tying touchdown to Cole Kmet on fourth-and-4 with 18 seconds left somehow topped it.

Williams threw a 14-yard touchdown to Kmet, but it was more like a 40-yard score after Williams backpedaled and managed to get the ball off without setting his feet and perfectly placing a pass to Kmet in the back corner of the end zone or the game-tying score.

Inside the NFL shared an incredible clip of Bears and Rams players' reactions to that Williams' touchdown, in real time, and it was as hilarious and perfect as you'd expect.

"That's ridiculous," head coach Ben Johnson said after the game. "You talk about that fourth-and-8 from last week and how outstanding that was, and I think this one was probably even another level ahead of that. There's some things that you just can't coach. He's got that bottom, he's got a knack, he's clutch. He does so many good things. He's an eraser. I have plenty of bad calls each and every week, and he helps make it right for me."

While Williams' sensational throw didn't result in a win, it's a play that will live in infamy in Bears history as one of two of the best postseason throws in NFL history in consecutive weeks for the former No. 1 pick.
