Bears vs. Bills: Is Caleb Williams playing in Sunday's preseason game?

The Chicago Bears got back to work on Wednesday up at Halas Hall and are preparing for their second preseason game, a Sunday night tilt against the Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field. Head coach Ben Johnson opted to hold quarterback Caleb Williams and most of the starters out of last week's opener against the Miami Dolphins, but he has a different plan for this week. "Our starters are going to play. Everyone is going to play," Johnson said on Wednesday.

Johnson provided Williams and the vast majority of the starting offense and defense reps prior to and after Sunday's 24-24 tie against the Dolphins. By the coach's count, Williams saw between 80 and 100 extra reps with that plan. Now, with a different schedule, Johnson wants to get everyone involved in this week's game as they gear up for the start of the regular season against the Minnesota Vikings.

This will be Williams' first extended look in a game setting in Johnson's offense, though it's still unclear as to how many reps he and the starters will get against the Bills. The game is scheduled for Sunday, August 17th at 7 p.m. CT.
