Best and worst offensive PFF grades for Patriots in win over Panthers
The New England Patriots look significantly improved on offense, and they got to show it off in Sunday's 42-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.
It was an efficient performance with solid blocking up front by the offensive line and great decision-making from second-year quarterback Drake Maye. More importantly, the Patriots avoided the same back-breaking turnovers that ruined their chances last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The team is really beginning to settle into offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' system, and it has done wonders for the unit as a whole. Maye went 14-of-17 passing for 203 yards and two touchdowns. His most targeted receiver was four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs, who finally broke out with six receptions for 101 yards.
The Patriots team that showed up against the Panthers would be a tough out for any team in the league. Here were the best and worst Pro Football Focus grades for the Patriots' offense on Sunday:
Top five PFF graded players
- G Mike Onwenu - 86.5
- WR Stefon Diggs - 85.7
- QB Drake Maye - 76.5
- OT Will Campbell - 72.9
- TE Hunter Henry - 72.4
Bottom five PFF graded players
- QB Joshua Dobbs - 48.1
- TE Jack Westover - 52.4
- WR Kyle Williams - 53.4
- RB Rhamondre Stevenson - 53.7
- WR Demario Douglas - 53.7
