Broncos sign quarterback to practice squad, cut 2 players
And just like that, he's back.
After being released from the active roster on Friday, Denver Broncos third-string quarterback Sam Ehlinger singed with the team's practice squad on Saturday. Ehlinger will continue serving as QB3 behind starter Bo Nix and primary backup Jarrett Stidham, and he can be elevated to the game-day roster three times.
The Broncos also made two other practice squad moves on Saturday. To make room for Ehlinger, Denver released defensive back A.J. Woods. Additionally, the team released wide receiver Thayer Thomas with an injury settlement.
Thomas was previously placed on the practice squad/injured list earlier this week. He's now a free agent.
