Browns bring depth TE back for third season to compete for roster spot

The Cleveland Browns are continuing to prepare for life without tight end David Njoku and fill that room with bodies. While Harold Fannin Jr. is set in stone, the Browns are adding competition to the room to fill out the roster.

First, the team signed blocking tight end Jack Stoll in free agency on a minimal deal to compete in training camp. Now the team has re-signed another depth tight end who has spent the last two seasons in Cleveland. Blake Whiteheart, who was a restricted free agent this offseason, has re-upped with the Browns.

The team itself announced the move today, adding Whiteheart back into a room with Fannin Jr., Stoll, and 2025 undrafted rookie free agent Caden Prieskorn. This is very much a position where the Browns could add another player to the roster in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The details of the contract with Whiteheart have not been released yet.
