Browns hit two home runs in Joel Klatt's latest 2026 NFL mock draft

Five weeks until the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Cleveland Browns are circling in on their first-round draft selections. FOX's lead college football analyst is honing in on his predictions, too. On Monday, he released his Mock Draft 2.0.

The predictions around the top of the draft are really starting to narrow down. The draft starts at pick No. 2, as it is a near guarantee that the Raiders are taking Fernando Mendoza with their top pick in the NFL Draft. Pick No. 2 to New York is about a 90 percent chance that Arvell Reese is the first pass rusher off the board.

Pick three for Arizona is a bit of a question mark, and truthfully, could be an inflection point for the Cleveland Browns. If they decide to go tackle with the No. 3 pick, the Browns might find themselves in a bit of trouble. Tennessee could make a couple of different selections on pick No. 4, and then the Giants are continually mocked to take wide receiver Carnell Tate.

The hope is that tackle Monroe Freeling is still available at pick No. 6 for the Cleveland Browns.

Who the Browns took at pick No. 6

This is who Klatt has the Browns selecting with their first pick in the draft. If Cleveland could, they would go back and take Tristan Wirfs in 2020 instead of Jedrick Wills, and then they would probably trade out Mason Graham for left tackle Armand Membou, who had an awesome rookie season.

The Browns have avoided getting their tackle of the future, and they may have the opportunity to do so at the end of April.

Who the Browns took at pick No. 24 in Klatt's mock draft

Next up for the Browns is pick No. 24, and this selection is starting to become a popular one. If there was one player that "won" the NFL Combine, it was Omar Cooper Jr. from Indiana. Cooper was a star for the Indiana Hoosiers last year on their run to the National Championship.

Klatt has the Browns selecting Cooper at 24, one pick before Jordyn Tyson is selected by the Chicago Bears. This decision would be met with some questions. If Tyson is still on the board, it would be very hard to pass him up, but if the injury history is too concerning, the Browns may pass on him.

Cooper is a reliable player and one who could be a long-term player in Cleveland, and has already visited the Browns on a pre-draft visit. The question would be if he has the big-play ability that you would want with a first-round pick. Only time would give us that answer. Regardless, if Cleveland comes out of the first round with their left tackle of the future and a potential star wide receiver, fans should be feeling excited to head into the back end of the offseason.
