The Cleveland Browns' head coaching search hasn't exactly been all smooth sailing. They've seen a few options, like Mike McDaniel and Grant Udinski, back out of the Browns HC search.
With the Browns down to just four options, there is one candidate who's emerging as a very serious suitor for Andrew Berry and Jimmy Haslam in the front office.
According to Dianna Rusini of The Athletic, the Browns are traveling out to Los Angeles for an in-person interview with the Los Angeles Rams' passing game coordinator, Nate Scheelhaase.
Browns making strong push for key Rams offensive coach
"The Cleveland Browns are getting right to work this morning," Russini reports. "They are in the Los Angeles area to meet with Rams passing game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase for their head coaching vacancy."
The Rams were eliminated from the NFL playoffs by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night in a thriller, the NFC Championship game.
While the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl, the Rams are heading home, and now might have one of their top offensive minds poached by the Browns.
The Browns have lost out on a few top coaching candidates, but if they find a way to bring Scheelhaase to Cleveland, it would be a great hire.

He's one of four candidates the Browns are still linked to, with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Washington Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn, and former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken among the finalists.
Seeing options like McDaniel and Udinski take their names out of the running for the head coaching job isn't the best look, but when it leads to Scheelhaase being hired, it wouldn't be a big loss.
He's one of the top candidates this cycle, and while young, the potential is sky-high for this Rams assistant.
The day after he was eliminated, Scheelhaase is getting a full-court press from the Browns in their head coaching search, as the Rams coach is a strong option for the Browns' new head coaching job in 2026.
