Bucs' Todd Bowles labeled a 'loser' coming out of Week 16 loss
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are spiraling down towards the end of their season as they grasp for a backup parachute on the way down to a crash landing. Instead what they are getting is nothing but a cold, frozen ground to break their fall and turn into a debris field of what they once were.
The man at the center of all of this is head coach Todd Bowles. The team has now lost three straight division games and is in second place in the division following a Week 16 loss to the Panthers. After starting the season 5-1, the Bucs are now 7-8, and everyone is looking for answers as to why they are collapsing.
Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski wrote up his selections for Winners and Losers from Week 16 and when it came to the Bucs, the "loser" was Todd Bowles.
Sobleski writes, "Bowles' previous comments were meant to serve as a rallying cry. Instead, the team came out flat and lost yet another game. Eventually, the arrow is going to point toward the head coach since he can't get his squad out of its current funk. Granted, a division title remains in play. If the Bucs can't end their current losing streak before the season ends, it's easy to imagine the organization going in another direction with the coaching staff, even after three straight division titles."
The Glazer family has moved on from coaches while winning, so it should be easy for them to move on from Bowles, right? The team needs a new voice; they need someone to motivate them, because at this point, we are seeing that this team is simply not motivated, and that falls back on Bowles.
