LEXINGTON — Kentucky women's basketball protected its home court on Friday, defeating Liberty, 79-78, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Led by Georgia Amoore, who had 34 points and eight assists, the Wildcats (23-7) got their first tournament win since 2021.

UK will return to Memorial Coliseum to take on Kansas State in the second round.
