Caitlin Clark picks best NBA star in NBC Sports appearance
During her second appearance on NBC Sports' "Basketball Night in America" on Sunday night, Iowa women's basketball legend and current Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark chose who she believes is currently the world's best player.
Before the New York Knicks took on the Oklahoma City Thunder inside the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Clark told the four-member NBC Sports crew that she believes Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world right now, based on his ability to both facilitate and score the basketball regardless of the defensive pressure.
"Honestly, he's probably my favorite player to watch, and I think he's the best player in the world," Clark said of Jokic. "You run two at him, he's gonna make the right play, he's gonna find the right pass. There's not many big players that can make the pass, make the right read, and he does it every single time, every single game. I think that's what I love about him.
"You know, obviously, he has the scoring, but a lot of times you go and check the box score, you watch the game, he's taking five shots in the first half, but he has 12 assists. So no matter what the other team does, he's gonna find a way to tear you apart."

While Jokic is top-10 in the league in scoring, averaging 27.9 points per game, Jokic is No. 1 in both rebounds (12.8) and assists (10.8) per contest, which perfectly proves Clark's point of his superior ability to be a floor general at a highly consistent rate.
When told of Clark's comments after his 25-point, 15-rebound, and eight-assist performance in Denver's 116-96 win over the Golden State Warriors, Jokic had a funny response.
"We have the same agent. That's why she said it," Jokic said.

As for Clark, Sunday was her final scheduled appearance on NBC's NBA coverage for the time being as she prepares for her third year with the Fever during the upcoming 2026 WNBA season, which is slated to begin their training camp in mid-April.
