Senegal is unquestionably one of the top contenders for ultimate glory at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The “Lions” have been drawn in Group D alongside Benin, DR Congo and Botswana.
Overview
Senegal is set to play in its 19th AFCON tournament, following appearances in 1965, 1968, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.
Senegal boasts a single continental crown, claimed in 2021 after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Egypt (4-2 on penalties) following a goalless draw in the final.
