Chargers CB Ja'Sir Taylor making his case for roster spot

As the Chargers sort out the cornerback room over the next month, Ja'Sir Taylor is making his case to lock in one of the spots.

Taylor, the fourth-year player, has been solid in coverage and has made multiple plays since the start of training camp, including two forced incompletions in Wednesday’s practice.

Taylor is coming off a season in which he played in 14 games, recording 22 tackles, 12 solo tackles, and five pass deflections. In 2023, he had a career-high eight passes defended.

Los Angeles is deep at the cornerback position, with players like Cam Hart, Tarheeb Still, Donte Jackson, Benjamin St-Juste, and Deane Leonard potentially ahead of Taylor on the depth chart.

However, if Taylor continues to perform at a high level, he should be a lock to make the 53-man roster. Additionally, Taylor's ability to contribute on special teams as a gunner gives him an advantage.
