UFC 317 brought with a slew of compelling fights including Ilia Topuria's big win over Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title, a fight that has positioned the Georgian/Spanish rising star as a name to watch in the pound-for-pound rankings this coming week and beyond.

Topuria's win over the UFC legend came early in the fight as he clocked Oliveira with a powerful two-punch combination that led to a knockout victory at 2:27 of the first round.

On Sunday, Oliveira took to social media to issue an apology to his fans that was viewed nearly 10 million times on his X account.

"My apologies," Oliveira simply wrote in a message that gained a ton of attention on Sunday.

Fans were quick to share their two cents with the Brazilian star and former UFC champ.

"You don't have to apologize champ," another fan said.

"Still the LW goat and legend," another fan wrote on X.

"You have nothing to apologize for champion," another said. "We all love you and always will."

Oliveira also sent a message to fans via Instagram that was longer in nature.

"It wasn't how we want it to be, but for the best, I want to thank everyone for the affection and wonderful energy.

"God bless you all," Oliveria added.

"Topuria would do that to Islam Makachev don't apologize bro," another fan wrote

"It's a shame to see how many weak men are posting disparaging comments here," another added.

"You lot would never have the balls or ability to do once what Charles has done for years," they said.
