Chelsea now eyeing move to sign 6ft 4in Premier League goalkeeper this summer
Chelsea are reportedly now looking into a move to sign Sunderland’s 6ft 4in goalkeeper Robin Roefs this summer.
It’s a surprise link that has come from nowhere really, with the goalkeeper noise around Stamford Bridge going a little bit quiet lately.

With the form of Robert Sanchez improving immensely, we have seen new number one goalkeeper links with Chelsea die out a little bit. But there is another situation brewing up.
Filip Jorgensen is basically not playing at all now at Chelsea and will clearly be looking to move on in the summer if his situation does not improve. He is a young goalkeeper who will not be happy playing as a backup – so you will see him looking to move on at the end of the season. And Chelsea will need to replace him.
Roefs in, Jorgensen out?
Again though, will Roefs be happy being a backup, if that is what they are looking at him for, if they are even looking at him at all?
They are, according to one reliable journalist this week.
Chelsea are interested in signing Roefs ahead of the summer transfer window, with the North East club slapping a £50m price tag on his head, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The big shock here though is that the report actually claims Roefs would be to replace SANCHEZ and NOT Jorgensen!?
Roefs in, Sanchez out?
According to the report from Nixon, Chelsea are in the race to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Roefs ahead of the transfer window. The Blues are believed to be searching for a new number one, and Sunderland would be willing to do business if the price is right.
Nixon claims it could take an offer in the region of £50m for Chelsea to secure his signature, while Roefs would be keen on a move if Rosenior’s side seal Champions League qualification.
I simply cannot see this right now, don’t think it will happen, at least not replacing Sanchez with him.
