Colts re-sign own veteran free agent wide receiver
The Indianapolis Colts are re-signing one of their own veteran free-agent wide receivers.
The team announced on Friday that Laquon Treadwell has been re-signed. This will be his third season with Indianapolis.
The contract details have not been reported at this time.
Why did the Colts re-sign WR Laquon Treadwell?
Bringing Treadwell back provides the Colts with some experienced depth at the wide receiver position -- something they are currently short on, especially after trading Michael Pittman.
A 10-year NFL vet, Treadwell has appeared in 93 games over his career. That stability can be valuable to call on if a team finds itself in a pinch, which the Colts did last year at the receiver position, adding Treadwell to the 53-man roster later in the year.
Most of his time with the Colts has been spent on the practice squad. He provides special teams experience as well.
In 2025, Treadwell played 141 special teams snaps, primarily across three phases. He had 36 offensive snaps, according to PFF.
Wide receiver is still a position GM Chris Ballard should be looking to address to bolster competition and elevate the floor of this unit.
