Colts vs. Dolphins: Highlights from Indianapolis' Week 1 win

For the first time since the 2013 season, the Indianapolis Colts opened the regular season with a win--and a convincing one at that.

In fact, this was one of the best all-around performances by a Shane Steichen-led Colts team.

Steichen's game plan was tailored perfectly for the offense, while Daniel Jones executed it near perfectly, completing 22-of-29 passes for 272 yards with a touchdown.

The Colts' offense would score on all seven of their possessions against Miami, becoming the first team since 1978 to score on every one of their possessions in a game.

Indianapolis' new-look defense under Lou Anarumo had the Miami offense stifled--to put it mildly. The combination of well-timed blitzes, disguises, and post-snap movement had Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' passing game guessing for all four quarters.

"It was amazing," Charvarius Ward said, via Colts.com. "The energy was super high, it was even better than I expected. We played lights out...we've been putting in the work all camp, so everything kind of just came to fruition today."

Highlight play

There's plenty to choose from, but we'll go with Laiatu Latu coming away with the interception, which highlights what we mentioned above with Lou Anarumo's scheme keeping the Dolphins' offense guessing. Rather than rushing the passer, Latu dropped into fairly deep coverage.
