Dallas Cowboys training camp: George Pickens makes Play of Day 7

Day 7 of Dallas Cowboys training camp was Day 2 of wearing pads and a second-straight session of being able to see things as football should look. Unfortunately practice was marred by the concerns for left tackle Tyler Guyton's injury, but football doesn't stop for one man, ever.

During warmups, quarterback Dak Prescott worked with wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens on some deep passes, hoping the chemistry with the offense's top two options could gain some momentum, and it led to the play of the day.

The work put in prior to practice played out perfectly as it didn't take long for Pickens to make his presence felt and showcase his big play ability. During the team portion of the workout, Prescott lofted a ball to Pickens down the sideline in tight coverage, which the new WR caught in stride and raced into the end zone for a touchdown and the play of the day.

This is the exact reason the Cowboys brought in Pickens, to be a vertical threat to keep defenses from keying in on Lamb and making the passing game more explosive. This wasn't the first connection between Prescott and Pickens during training camp, but it was the first real big play from the duo. It demonstrates just how potent the offense can be with Pickens in Dallas.

There should be plenty more big plays to come from Pickens this season, something the Cowboys' passing game desperately needs.
