Dante Moore jumped by new favorite in Heisman Trophy odds after Week 4
Another week, another leader in the clubhouse for the Heisman Trophy, per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds.
Fresh off the Indiana Hoosiers 53-point thumping of the ninth-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini, quarterback Fernando Mendoza makes his debut atop the Heisman Trophy odds after Week 4 in college football. He had about as good of a day as a quarterback can have, completing 21 of 23 throws for 267 yards and five touchdowns, an elite display of passing.
Not far behind him is Oregon Ducks signal caller Dante Moore, who had a career-high four touchdown passes against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday afternoon. He's now up to nearly 1,000 yards passing and 11 touchdowns versus just one interceptions, earning him a third consecutive week in the top 5 of Heisman odds.
A major swing will occur in Week 5 for Moore, who, much like Mendoza against a top 10 opponent this week, will have a chance to battle the second-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions on the road. If the Ducks fall and Moore has a subpar performance, he'll see his Heisman chances fall greatly. But if Oregon come out of Beaver Stadium with a win, he very well could be the fifth leader in the Heisman odds in five weeks.
