D.J. Reed injury update: Lions start the return clock for starting CBs return to action

The Detroit Lions are starting to get more help on defense at the ready. Starting cornerback D.J. Reed is poised to return to the active roster in the coming weeks.

Reed officially started the 21-day window to return from Detroit's injured reserve list on Wednesday. He's been out since suffering a hamstring injury in the Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns, pulling up as he chased a Browns receiver down the field in coverage.

That 21-day window extends to Wednesday, December 3rd, the day before the Lions host the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night in Week 14. Reed can be activated at any point between now and that date, though the recent timeline on Reed's return offered by head coach Dan Campbell was very much in line with the early December date.

Detroit has already seen injured DT Alim McNeill get into the lineup, and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez has until Monday to be activated from his 21-day window to return.
