Dolphins FB lands in concussion protocol

Miami Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold is in the NFL's concussion protocol after suffering an injury in training camp Sunday, a team spokesperson told David Furones of the Sun Sentinel.

Ingold, 29, went down in practice and was motionless on the field, leaving many of his teammates concerned.

But the concerns were assuaged when Ingold got back to his feet and walked off the field under his own power.

The former Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders fullback signed with the Dolphins as a free agent during the 2022 offseason. After his first season in Miami, Ingold signed an extension with the team in 2023 and earned Pro Bowl honors later that year.

In three seasons with the Dolphins, Ingold has recorded 25 rushing yards, 320 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns. More importantly, he's been an integral part of blocking both in the run game and in pass protection for Tua Tagovailoa. Miami doesn't have any other fullbacks on its roster.
