Dolphins hiring Jeff Hafley: Fans seem happy with grabbing Packers DC

The Miami Dolphins have hired their new head coach, entrusting their future with Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

And while football diehards may be able to explain what Hafley is likely to bring to the Dolphins, he may not win many popularity contests among the other possible coaching candidates available. But, Hafley did enough to impress Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan — who also comes from Green Bay — to get the job.

But before his first game on the sideline, or his first practice, or even his first press conference, many, many fans and observers have thoughts on the Dolphins' new top whistle-blower.

Here's a quick sampling of social media reaction on Hafley to Miami:

From the sounds of it, Hafley may be an early favorite to "win the press conference" when he's introduced to the media.

And while there is come dissatisfaction (a lot of which isn't suitable for platform), some fans aren't just saying "wait and see," but rather "give the guy a chance."

Alas there is some buyer's remorse from some pockets of the fan base. Especially with the news of the Buffalo Bills firing Sean McDermott just hours before:

And, as mentioned earlier, it's hard to ignore the synergy among Sullivan and Hafley, who both from the Packers organization. And it seems Dolphins fans like the idea of familiarity among the top two football decision-makers:
