Dolphins player of the game, Week 17: DE Bradley Chubb

Bradley Chubb recorded two sacks and a forced fumble in the Miami Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Chubb made his presence felt early, sacking Baker Mayfield on Tampa Bay's first offensive possession. But it was Chubb's second sack of the day that was crucial in securing the win. With just over four minutes left in the game with the Dolphins leading 20-10, Chubb got to Mayfield again for a sack and forced fumble which was recovered by linebacker Quinton Bell.

This turnover allowed the Miami offense to take two minutes off the clock and forced Tampa Bay to use all three of its timeouts. Even though the Buccaneers were able to score another touchdown, the Dolphins recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the win.

Chubb may have earned $900,000 with his second sack too. His contract includes an incentive for reaching eight sacks on the year and his second of the day got him to 8.5. The caveat is that the Dolphins have to finish top 20 in points allowed and entered the day at No. 22 in the NFL.

Miami helped his case by forcing three turnovers Sunday and limited Tampa Bay to 17 points. In addition to Chubb's strip sack, cornerback Jason Marshall Jr and safety Ashtyn Davis each recorded an interception. After today, the Dolphins have a 4-0 record in games this season where they have forced three turnovers.

The Dolphins will play their final game of the season against New England next Sunday. If Chubb is able to record 1.5 or more sacks, it will be the third campaign of his career with double-digit sacks.
