Dolphins sign seven of eight draft picks ahead of rookie minicamp

The Miami Dolphins signed seven of their eight draft picks Friday morning ahead of the start of rookie minicamp.

Defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, cornerback Jason Marshall Jr., safety Dante Trader Jr., running back Ollie Gordon II, quarterback Quinn Ewers and defensive tackle Zeek Biggers all put pen to paper and agreed to their rookie contracts.

That leaves only offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea, whom the Dolphins traded up in the second round to select, as the remaining unsigned draft pick from the draft class of two weeks ago.

Grant, the first-round pick taken at No. 13, was inked to a four-year contract worth $22 million, according to ESPN. That falls in line with the slot value for where he was selected, according to the NFL’s rookie wage scale, and includes a $12.6 million signing bonus. Signing bonuses for this year’s rookie class are reportedly up 26 percent from last year’s class, according to Sportico.

Phillips, Marshall and Trader, all selected in the fifth round, will each total about $4.6 million on the scale. Gordon, a sixth-round pick, is due to make more than $4.4 million. Ewers and Biggers, as seventh-rounders, are set to make around $4.3 million.

The slot value for Savaiinaea, still unsigned as the No. 37 pick, is $11.3 million.
