Duke's Cameron Boozer called for flagrant foul for elbow to the head of a TCU player
Duke star Cameron Boozer was called for a flagrant foul when his elbow hit TCU’s David Punch in the face during the first half of their second-round NCAA tournament game.
Boozer had the ball high above the the key and went to dribble towards the lane as Punch moved closer to defend. Boozer put his right arm up and his elbow caught Punch square in the face and bloodied his nose.No foul was called on the floor, but after a video review, officials deemed that Boozer had committed a flagrant foul.

Boozer was assessed a flagrant 1 foul, which was assessed for contact to the head that can be considered unnecessary or avoidable. TCU got two free throws and the ball.
With Punch on the bench as trainers worked to get his nose to stop bleeding, Liutauras Lelevicius shot the free throws in his place.
Seventeen seconds later, Boozer picked up his second foul of the game.
