East Central Indiana high school softball scores, top performers from week of April 21-26

The ongoing softball season gave us plenty of exciting games throughout East Central Indiana this week. Here are all of the Muncie-area high school softball scores and top performances from the week of April 21-26:

Teams are in alphabetical order.

Blackford Lady Bruins (3-3)

  • April 21: lost 4-3 at Daleville
  • April 23: lost 10-0 vs. Shenandoah
  • April 24: won 10-9 vs. Elwood

Top Performance: Serenity Lehman hit a two-run home run in the Lady Bruins' win over Elwood. She also hit a home run earlier in the week against Daleville.

Cowan Blackhawks (4-6)

  • April 21: won 6-2 at Cambridge City Lincoln
  • April 22: won 8-3 at Monroe Central
  • April 25: lost 12-1 vs. Knightstown

Top Performance: Savannah Bowling had an excellent two-way game against Cambridge City Lincoln. She went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and pitched all seven innings in the circle, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts.

Daleville Broncos (8-2)

  • April 21: won 4-3 vs. Blackford
  • April 22: lost 14-5 at Eastern Hancock
  • April 23: won 8-6 at Elwood
  • April 24: won 13-3 vs. Richmond
  • April 26: won 7-1 vs. Tri-Central
  • April 26: won 13-3 vs. Tri-Central (DH)

Top Performance:Zoe Shihemi hit the walk-off RBI to lift Daleville to a victory over Blackford.

Delta Eagles (3-10)

  • April 22: lost 10-4 vs. Pendleton Heights
  • April 23: lost 21-1 vs. Yorktown
  • April 25: lost 14-7 vs. Bellmont (Kokomo Softball Tournament)
  • April 26: won 16-9 vs. Covenant Christian (Kokomo Softball Tournament)
  • April 26: lost 9-2 vs. Illiana Christian (Kokomo Softball Tournament)

Top Performance: Liz Bramlett was a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBIs in Delta's win over Covenant Christian.

Jay County Patriots (8-0)

  • April 21: won 7-3 at Coldwater (Ohio)

Top Performance: Jaelynn Lykins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against Coldwater.

Monroe Central Golden Bears (0-10)

  • April 22: lost 8-3 vs. Cowan
  • April 24: lost 25-8 at Wes-Del
  • April 25: lost 17-6 vs. Tri

Top Performance: Laura Walker went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs against Tri.

Muncie Central Bearcats (0-8)

  • April 21: lost 29-0 at Yorktown
  • April 23: lost 20-0 at Lapel
  • April 24: lost 24-6 vs. Winchester
  • April 26: lost 15-0 vs. Marion
  • April 26: lost 7-0 vs. Marion (DH)

Top Performance: N/A

New Castle Trojans (6-3)

  • April 21: lost 8-5 vs. Mt. Vernon
  • April 22: won 5-0 vs. Cambridge City Lincoln
  • April 24: won 11-4 at Cambridge City Lincoln

Top Performance: Sydney Dobbs put together a great two-way game against Cambridge City Lincoln on April 22. She was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and pitched five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six.

Shenandoah Lady Raiders (6-2)

  • April 21: lost 2-1 at Frankton
  • April 23: won 10-0 at Blackford
  • April 24: won 20-5 at Wapahani
  • April 26: lost 11-0 vs. Hagerstown

Top Performance: Olivia Hinesley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs against Blackford.

Wapahani Lady Raiders (0-6)

  • April 24: lost 20-5 vs. Shenandoah
  • April 26: lost 14-1 at Alexandria-Monroe

Top Performance: Briley Kalahekomo went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a double against Shenandoah.

Wes-Del Warriors (7-3)

  • April 21: won 8-0 at Union City
  • April 22: won 6-0 vs. Southern Wells
  • April 24: won 25-8 vs. Monroe Central

Top Performance: Bailee West remained dominant in the circle with two shutout games last week. She had 12 strikeouts in each game of Wes-Del's back-to-back wins over Union City and Southern Wells.

Winchester Community Lady Falcons (7-2)

  • April 21: won 22-2 vs. Randolph Southern
  • April 23: won 25-2 at Richmond
  • April 24: won 24-6 at Muncie Central

Top Performance: Ava Lanter went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs in the Lady Falcons' big win over Richmond.

Yorktown Tigers (7-2)

  • April 21: won 29-0 vs. Muncie Central
  • April 22: won 2-0 vs. New Palestine
  • April 23: won 21-1 at Delta
  • April 24: lost 6-0 vs. Fishers

Top Performance: Olivia Jones led Yorktown to victory over Class 3A No. 1 New Palestine in a pitcher's duel. Jones pitched seven shutout innings, giving up just one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. She also drove in Yorktown's only runs with a two-RBI double in the fifth inning.
