Elite Augusta OL Malcolm Gaston announces commitment

Three-star offensive line recruit Malcolm Gaston has committed to the Liberty Flames. Gaston, a member of the class of 2026 recruiting cycle, committed to Flames over the Georgia Bulldogs, Virginia Tech Hokies, Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles.
“We’re very excited for Malcolm (Gaston) and his family,” North Augusta football coach Richard Bush said. “Liberty University does a tremendous job of not only playing football, but also developing the whole person; and, knock on wood, Malcolm is somebody that’s gonna help them.”
Gaston committed to Liberty shortly after visiting the Flames for their season opener against Maine. Gaston notably cancelled his official visit to Georgia in June, but did not explain why. Gaston was previously a top recruiting target for Georgia, but kind of fell off the Bulldogs' radar in recent months.
The 6-foot-5, 350-pound interior offensive lineman plays high school football for North Augusta High School in North Augusta, South Carolina. Augusta is located on the border South Carolina and Georgia.
The North Augusta star is ranked as the No. 13 recruit in South Carolina and the No. 80 interior offensive lineman in the nation, per 247Sports. Gaston's recruiting ranking has slid significantly since Feb. 2025.
Gaston is a versatile offensive lineman with experience playing both left guard and left tackle. College football programs love size and versatility, so those are reasons why Gaston attracted the interest of Power Four schools.

Gaston is one of Liberty's highest ranked commitments in the class of 2026. The Flames have 20 total commitments in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the No. 94 recruiting class in the nation.
