Elite QB to announce decision on Friday, Florida State top 3 finalist

The Florida State Seminoles have put themselves in a position to possibly land one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 cycle. Four-star prospect Wonderful Monds, who FSU has been recruiting since his freshman year, has put them in his top three.

That's not all he's done. Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, Monds has set his commitment date for this Friday, May 1, as he will announce it on the Pat McAfee Show. The other schools he'll choose from will be the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Monds is the nation's No. 288 overall player and the No. 22 quarterback recruit according to Rivals' industry rankings. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder is also the No. 25 prospect in the state of Florida.

Notre Dame has multiple crystal ball predictions to land Monds, with the last coming on Wednesday. So, Florida State appears to be fighting an uphill battle, but it would be a major win for them in recruiting to keep Monds in the Sunshine State.
