Erik Spoelstra will reportedly be named head coach of the U.S. men's national team, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The Miami Heat coach will take over for Steve Kerr and lead USA Basketball at the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar in 2027 and the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

Spoelstra, 54, served as an assistant coach with the national team from 2022-2024 and was a part of Kerr's staff at the 2023 FIBA World Cup where the U.S. placed fourth and the 2024 gold medal-winning Olympic team.
