ESPN's Adam Schefter talks about the noise around Mike Tomlin
Pittsburgh Steelers fans are fed up with the lack of success from head coach Mike Tomlin. A franchise with such a rich tradition has been reduced to being middle of the road and the staff don't seem at all concerned about doing anything about it. This season, the Steelers once again sit at .500 2/3 of the way through the year and two of their toughest games coming up against division rival Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers have that first matchup with the Ravens this Sunday and ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter talked about the noise around Tomlin and his future with the team on his podcast and what a win would do.
"If Pittsburgh wins [against Baltimore], the noise gets quieter," Schefter said. "I know there's been a lot of noise, but the noise seems to be coming from outside more than it does inside. I don't hear within the organization, 'Let's move on from Mike Tomlin.' It's crazy how much noise there actually is relative to what's being said, I think, within the organization, which is not very much right now."
We tend to agree with Schefter that ownership feels no pressure when it comes to Tomlin's job security. But if the Steelers lose this weekend to the Ravens, the outside noise is going to get very loud.
