Nobody at Chelsea wants to take accountability for the club’s lack of discipline this season according to journalist Matt Law.

Chelsea have received nine red cards in all competitions this season, if you include Enzo Maresca being give his marching orders.

Six of those have come in the Premier League, with Wesley Fofana the latest player to get sent off against Burnley last weekend.

Matt Law on discipline problem at Chelsea

The red cards have cost Chelsea vital points this season, and is certainly part of the reason why the Blues are in a dog fight to qualify for Champions League football.

Maresca was keen to play down any idea of a discipline problem when he was in charge, and Rosenior appears to be doing the same.

Sam Allardyce has urged the Chelsea boss to clamp down after Fofana’s red card, and Law has revealed no one wants to take any accountability over the issue.

“Every time we ask anybody at the club about the disciplinary issue, they never want to take accountability,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“It’s driving me insane this issue, that they won’t get on top of it and they pretend like it’s not it’s not really that bad.”

Fofana will be suspended for Sunday’s game against Arsenal, whilst Moises Caicedo is now two bookings away from a two game suspension.

Liam Rosenior faces tough end to the season

The Blues face a tough run of fixtures to end the season, and are going to need as many players available to help them get the results they need.

Picking up needless bookings and red cards really isn’t going to help the cause, and shows the lack of maturity in the squad currently.

The pressure will be on both Rosenior and the players, but if the Blues can’t do the basics like keep their discipline in check, then they don’t deserve to play Champions League football next season.
