Ex-Rams star calls NFL 'one of the most corrupt organizations'
The NFL gets a lot of flak from everyone for a variety of reasons, and former Los Angeles Rams running back Eric Dickerson had a few he wanted to talk about ahead of Super Bowl LX.
The Hall-of-Fame running back, who played with the Rams from 1983 to the beginning of the 1987 season, called the NFL "one of the most corrupt organizations there is" in a conversation with TMZ.
“They’ll do anything for money,” he said about the league.
Dickerson sounded off on a few topics, including Bad Bunny playing at the Super Bowl halftime show, Hall of Fame voting and hiring Black head coaches.
“Why can’t we get somebody from right here, from home?" Dickerson said about Bad Bunny. "How about someone from right here in San Francisco? All these artists right here in the area to play at the Super Bowl.”
When asked about New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and team owner Bob Kraft not making the Hall of Fame, Dickerson called it the "biggest farce ever."
"That man should be in the Hall of Fame. How the hell do you do that? [Patriots owner Bob] Kraft too," Dickerson said. "If Belichick's not in, how are you gonna put Tom Brady in when he comes up? Talk about deflecting. How are you going to put him in? You can't."
Dickerson also called the NFL's Rooney Rule, which requires all teams to interview minority coaches before hiring for head coach and top coordinator positions, "a freaking joke."
“You can’t make a person hire a Black coach,” Dickerson said. “Owners are going to do what they want to do. You feel comfortable with who looks like you sometimes. That’s just it.”

Dickerson won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 1983 for the Rams. He rushed for 7,245 yards and 56 touchdowns in 65 games for L.A, leading the NFL in rushing yards three times in four seasons.
