For first time since November, Rockets (48-29) win five straight games
For the first time since before Thanksgiving, the Rockets have won five consecutive games.
Houston’s latest conquest came in Friday’s 140-106 beatdown (box score) of the visiting Utah Jazz, and it ties the team’s longest winning streak of the 2025-26 season.
The Rockets (48-29) expanded their lead for the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference standings, and they have already clinched a spot in the 2026 playoffs. The rebuilding Jazz (21-57) remain in second-to-last place.
From Rockets PR, key statistics were as follows:
— Houston won by a season-high 34 points, and it is the fifth time the Rockets have defeated the Jazz by 30+ in the all-time series. During the current five-game winning streak, Houston is outscoring opponents by an average of 19.8 points per game.
— The Rockets scored a season-high tying 140 points. Houston is averaging 121.1 points over its past 10 games after averaging 108.0 the 36 games prior. The Rockets averaged 120.5 points over the first 31 games of the season. Houston scored at least 125 points in all four of the games versus Utah this season.
— The Rockets shot 55.4% from the floor. Houston has shot 55.0% or better seven times this season, which is its highest season total since doing so nine times in 2013-14.

Kevin Durant when I ask if anything's flipped for Rockets with 5-game win streak: "We started knocking more shots down.. That's really the only reason we've been inconsistent compared to people's expectations.. — The Rockets had 30 assists with just 11 turnovers. Houston has recorded 30+ assists in five straight games, which is tied for the third-longest streak in franchise history and the first since March 1986. The Rockets have an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.10 over their past five games.
— Six Rockets scored in double-figures, including all five starters. The entire starting lineup has scored 10+ points in eight of the past 10 games.
— Kevin Durant had 25 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. He has recorded 25/5/5 six times since the 2026 All-Star break after doing so only six times previously. Durant has recorded 6+ assists in six straight games for the sixth time in his career and the first since a career-high span of nine games in March 2023.
— Amen Thompson had 21 points. This season, he has scored 20+ points 31 times after doing so a total of 18 times over his first two NBA seasons. Thompson shot 7-of-11 from the floor and has shot 50.0% or better in 10 of the past 11 games.

Friday’s victory wrapped up a perfect 3-0 homestand at Toyota Center, where the Rockets are now 28-10 this season. Unfortunately, they are only 20-19 on the road, and that’s where Houston will play its next two games — at Golden State (36-41) on Sunday and at Phoenix (42-35) on Tuesday.
Tipoff versus the Warriors is at 9:00 p.m. Central, and the game will be televised and streamed to a national audience via NBC and Peacock.
