Former Dolphins RB lands two-year deal with NFC North team

With the 2025 NFL season ending roughly a month ago, all 32 teams are preparing for the start of a new league year, which kicks off next week.

When that happens, teams will be able to officially sign free agents who ended last year with another team. For now, however, they can work to re-sign their own pending free agents.

On Wednesday, former Miami Dolphins running back Chris Brooks re-signed with the Green Bay Packers. According to his agents at One West Sports Group, the deal is for two years and is worth $4.85 million.

Brooks, 26, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2023 and appeared in nine games as a rookie, rushing for 106 yards on 5.6 yards per carry.

In 2024, the Dolphins released Brooks with an injury settlement right before the season, and he landed with the Packers. Over the last wo years, he's rushed for 289 yards and a touchdown on 4.6 yards per attempt and caught 24 passes for an additional 160 yards.

Brooks was set to be a restricted free agent, but now, he's under contract through the 2027 season.
