The Cleveland Browns lost to the Detroit Lions 34-10 on Sunday. With the loss for the Browns, they dropped to 1-3 on the season and the Lions improved to 3-1 on the season.

One of the biggest disappointments this season for Cleveland has been the offense. Quarterback Joe Flacco has not played well through the first four games of the season. If the Browns continue to spiral offensively, they will at some point switch to either Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders at quarterback.

Former NFL Coach Has Harsh Take About Cleveland Browns Quarterback Shedeur Sanders

One of the topics on the show Get Up on ESPN on Monday was morning was should the Browns bench Flacco? Cleveland's offense has yet to score over 20 points this season. Rex Ryan made a very strong take about Sanders on the show and said,

"This kid talks and he runs his mouth. Like he said, 'I can be a starting quarterback' with his arms crossed like this. Get your a- in the front row and study and do all that. If I know, the whole league knows. Quit being an embarrassment that way. You've got the talent to be the quarterback, you should be. You should be embarrassed that you're not the quarterback now."

It will be interesting to see if Sanders will ever get his chance. He is currently third on the depth chart at the quarterback position. The Browns are probably going to stick with Flacco for week five against the Minnesota Vikings. If this team is going to make a switch from Flacco to either Sanders or Gabriel, it may not come until October 19 against the Miami Dolphins.

It is understandable why Ryan was harsh on the rookie quarterback. This could also be a reason why he slipped to the fifth-round in the 2025 NFL Draft because of his work ethic.
