Former Notre Dame contributor enters the portal for a second time
Unfortunately, for a former Notre Dame wide receiver, he’s finding out that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Rico Flores made a solid impact during his freshman season in 2023, catching 27 receptions for 392-yards and a score. After his first year, it looked like he was going to be a big part of the future at wide receiver for the Irish, but then opted to transfer closer to home at UCLA.
During his two seasons with the Bruins, Flores had virtually the same statistics he did in his lone season in South Bend, catching 38 passes for 461-yards and a score. With the Bruins firing DeShaun Foster and announcing the hiring of James Madison head coach Bob Chesney, Flores decided it was time to move on once again and entered the portal.
Hopefully this time he’s able to find a program that fits his needs, as he’s shown that he’s more than talented enough to make an impact at this level. We wish Flores the best in his search.
