Former Notre Dame safety signee will enter the transfer portal
Back in 2023, Notre Dame football looked like it was signing one of the top safeties in the nation when Virginia athlete Brandyn Hillman entered the program.
The former top-250 prospect didn’t spend much time in South Bend, as the requested his release a few months later and the Irish granted it. Hillman would eventually sign with Michigan, and has been a solid contributor over the last two seasons.
On Thursday, the junior opted to enter the transfer portal, but don’t expect Notre Dame to make a play at him again. The Irish have tons of depth in the secondary, and while more than a few of those players have also entered the portal, the in-coming freshman class has multiple elite players entering the program who could fill that role.
