Former Patriots LB Jack Gibbens to visit Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals could be adding a new linebacker in free agency, someone to replace recently released LB Akeem Davis-Gaither. According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Cardinals will have former New England Patriots linebacker Jack Gibbens in for a visit.
He was a restricted free agent for the Patriots whom they did not tender, making him an unrestricted free agent.
In 2025, his only season in New England, he played in 17 games and started eight in a rotational linebacker role. He had a total of 81 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a sack, three quarterback hits, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 491 defensive snaps.
He also played 281 snaps on special teams.
He would perhaps fill the role that Davis-Gaither had last season, playing alongside Mack Wilson. He also played a lot on special teams, leading the team with 20 total special teams tackles. Davis-Gaither, though, was entering the second year of a two-year, $10 million deal.
Gibbens will certainly cost less than the lowest restricted free agent tender that would pay more than $3.5 million.
Gibbens spent his first three NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
