In less than two weeks, teams across the NFL will add future stars to their rosters in the NFL draft. The Longhorns are expected to have plenty to celebrate, with Kelvin Banks Jr., Matthew GoldenJaydon Blue, and Quinn Ewers predicted to be picked in the first three rounds. Another former Longhorn who is also drawing a lot of interest is Jahdae Barron

The talented defensive back is coming off the best season of his college career. In his final year as a Longhorn, Barron set career highs in total tackles with 67 and interceptions with five. Due to his play, Barron won the Jim Thorpe Award, which is given to the best defensive back in the nation.

While Barron's play made headlines, he also caught the attention of NFL executives, including former Raiders GM Maycock. In an interview with Betway Insider, Maycock highlighted the former Longhorns star when asked what prospects might be taken higher than expected.

"I would look at the Texas corner-slash-nickel, Jahdae Baron," Maycock said during the interview. "Most people have him as the third or fourth corner in the draft, but I think some teams around the lake really like this kid. I like the kid. He's aggressive, quick, tough, he's got position versatility where he can kick inside and play nickel and compete at a high level."

It would not be surprising to see Maycock's prediction come true. Over the last few weeks, Barron has been linked to many different teams as organizations look for impact players in the secondary. He has been connected to the Raiders, Vikings, Cardinals, and Commanders during the pre-draft process. Any of those teams would benefit from having Barron on their defense.

Regardless of where Barron ends up, he shouldn't have to wait long once the draft starts to find out where his NFL career will begin.
